TNS TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT SYDNEY PCI DSS EVENT

Minimising exposure to card fraud and PCI compliance costs highlighted in presentation

3 December 2009 – Payments Solution provider, Transaction Network Services (NYSE:TNS) is presenting the challenges that non-compliance and fraud bring to the payments landscape at the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Compliance conference in Sydney today.

The TNS presentation offers practical advice on minimising card fraud and streamlining PCI compliance costs through the implementation of managed end-to-end EFTPOS encryption and the outsourcing of stored card data services.

Brad Templeton, Product Marketing Director APAC, who is leading the TNS speaking session said: “As the rate of card data breaches continue to rise, and with the loss of personal data costing Australians over $1 billion in 2007 (Source: ABS), businesses need to consider the options to shift sensitive card data out of their environment and allow them to focus on their core profit objectives.

“There is a minimum standard of compliance that all businesses should adhere to and a range of solutions are now available to reduce the vulnerability to potential threats.
